Jizya

From WikiAhmadiyya, the free encyclopedia on Islam and Ahmadiyyat

Jizya was a form of tax levied by Muslim nations on non-Muslim citizens. Meanwhile, Zakat was a form of tax levied exclusively upon Muslims. In return for paying tax to the state, non-Muslims were exempt from being conscripted into the state's armed forces, but were nonetheless guaranteed protection of all their safety and rights.
